How to get the joint seals right! What is the key?
Ensure the surface on which the joint sealant is going to be applied on is clean.
Whether or not your joint sealant solution works will all depend on how well you’ve cleaned the surface.
Even just a small speck of dust can cause leakages and pest or vermin infestation by rendering your surface uneven and ruining the way the tiles are placed. Cleaning your surface seriously is a crucial part of the process.
Check the specifications of the silicone sealant you are planning to buy or use as not all silicone sealants will bond to every surface. Silicone sealants are made to adhere to different surfaces like glass, wood, tile and so on.
Be cautious of the effect of oxidation on silicone sealants
Oxidation is a chemical process whereby a compound can get eroded due to the action of oxygen on it. Make sure you use an acid-free silicone sealant. Acid-free silicone sealants are safe and won’t react with your plumbing, construction or renovation work. The silicone sealant you use can damage your tiles, mirror, bathroom sink, or the woodwork you use it on.
Use masking tape for a clean result.
We are after an aesthetic look. Using masking tape while applying your silicone sealants will ensure the look is aesthetically pleasing.

I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking this won't fix the leaking showers as the water was starting to destroy the underflooring under the house, so I read some of the reviews and decided to give them a try. Saba Seal took our bathrooms from EEWW to WOW! The tradesman who did the job even stayed until after 6pm on a Friday in order to complete the task -almost unheard of.
Resealed and regrouted 2 bathrooms and they both feel like brand new again! Nice guy that does great quality and efficient work. His administrator was really helpful informing me about the process, preparation and finding suitable times across the 2 bathrooms so we were not without a bathroom. Highly recommended.
